The super cool Cybertruck is a vision that has come to life. You can look at it and see the futuristic elements that comprise its make up both inside and out.
Inside, it’s all electric. That’s great for your wallet, it’s great for the Earth… but it may not be so great for people who make their living through oil changes.
I’m not going to pretend to know all of the ins and outs of electric vehicles. But we all know that fossil fuels are running out. (There is a joke in here somewhere about dinosaurs going extinct and now the fossil fuels will also go that way.)
Like hundreds of thousands of people, I watched the live footage of the Cybertruck being unveiled. I was thrilled every moment that Mr. Elon Musk spoke about and demonstrated this futuristic vehicle. And then after it was over, I talked about it with my best friend. (We want to drive one!!) and then the next morning, I showed a picture of the Cybertruck to my son Legendary and he was excited, too.
I told my son my favorite part of the truck. Well, one of my favorite parts. Which I’m actually surprised that I haven’t seen not ONE tweet (other than my own) reference to-
The fact that the body of steel used on the Cybertruck is the same steel that SpaceX uses on their StarShips!!
That fact blows me away. I can’t explain why, exactly, it makes me smile with joy. But it does. That’s amazing. Why are people not mentioning that?
The outside appearance of the Cybertruck is what brings in reality. The stark reality that the future is coming and you better be ready for it.
Because when Cybertrucks are on the road, it’s going to give off a different vibe. A futuristic vibe.
Technology is changing. We are on the brink of a new era.
The hard truth? The future was here like 10 years ago. Maybe more than that. Luckily, things happen in waves and it’s not too late to get in on it. But this is like one of the last calls before something major happens. Hopefully it’s majorly GOOD like affordable housing becoming standard for all people.
I don’t know for sure but I don’t think it will be anything super extreme like an apocalypse.
It’s like this:
By the time Cybertrucks hit the roads (in 2021), most people will be feeling like the future is here and then the slowly industrious ones will be wanting to see how they can evolve to fit the new age.
I’m here to tell you that NOW is actually the time to begin to find your place in the new age. The question really is, what are you going to be doing in 2 years?
The hard part is for those who don’t have much freedom of movement. The ones who can’t quit their job at McDonalds because they will be homeless if they do. That kind of poverty is the definition of “a rock and a hard place.”
However, the bright side (or not so bright side, depending on how you look at it) is that a forced evolution is coming, regardless how prepared you are for it.
You may find it unfathomable to quit your job but you may become forced out of it as technology moves forward – like a oil change millionaire or the McDonalds employee.
I do believe that evolution is a great thing. Innovation is a great thing in and of itself.
But it’s only truly great when it is within a balanced system or roll out.
I don’t intend to make this an article about the class differences in America and other wise but we have to talk about it by mentioning the small fact that the minimum wage in America is extremely low. In my state, people only get paid a little over $7 for an hour of their time. That’s outrageous and stone-age wages.
That’s what I mean by evolution needs to be balanced. Companies are selling 2020 products but still paying their employees 1999 wages. There is a problem there. I don’t have a solution besides “pay people more.”
The REAL solution is to think two years in the future. When Tesla begins to deliver the Cybertruck pre-orders (which are about 200,000 at the time of this post), the future is going to be solidly in place.
What will you be doing at that time? Also important, what are the children and youth going to be focused on?
I talk to my son about this. While I may not be as smart as I’d like to be, I am wise enough to know that children need to be given certain visions that will allow them to have higher level thinking.
“Follow your dreams/heart/passion” is advice that I myself do and give … but it’s not enough. Find your dream and then follow it on a high level that will allow you to be INdispensable.
There is no need to reinvent the wheel. That wastes time. Take advantage of the fact that so much has already been created and use that to go forward.
If your dream is to build cars, you should definitely be on the level of electric vehicles. Because even if a majority of the cars on the road are gasoline powered, it won’t be that way in the future. The dinosaurs died and now their remains (fossil fuels) are also running out.
Just because something is one way now, doesn’t mean that it has to be that way in the future.
The best thing, IMO, that we can do as a collective right now…. those of us who want to be in the future in 2021, is to learn and apply the knowledge. And don’t just learn fun, Jeopardy facts. Learn about what is evolving and where it’s heading next. Whatever your passion is, stay on top of what’s going on with it. I’d actually advise you to stay on top of three industries and don’t fall behind on the new developments.
For example, you can stay on top of what’s new with solar energy, electric vehicles… and Rocket ships.
One thing to really appreciate about Innovators like Elon Musk (and not just him) is the community that surrounds innovators. The UNITY that can be found when you lean into what they are doing. If it’s meaningful, you will find meaning in it. And yeah, sure, there are detractors but (as mentioned in The Jet Fuel Diet), if you are going to do great things in life, there will be people who dislike it and by extension, they will also dislike you. Use that attention to continue to build something amazing.
The hardest part will be for those of you who don’t have many resources to begin with. If you already have little, how can you gain the resources needed to build upwards in life?
I don’t have a concrete answer for this tough situation… But I do have some optimism – Life can change, for the better, in the blink of an eye. You have to keep that belief in perspective. Use it to continue to drive you forward.
But you won’t be able to level up in life if you’re not working toward doing that. Find your dream (hopefully you have 2 or 3 already), stay current with it and then persist. Remember, persistence is the name of the game. When you get called into the game, you have to be on top of your game. Come in HOT. The future is coming but it is also HERE right now. If you need to warm up- do that. And then don’t cool off.
This post is advising myself as well as others out there. I want a better future for us as a collective. I want families to end the poverty cycles. Especially if the current economic system gets you down, sad, and depressed then you should put your energy into getting TF out of it.
