Good and Bad Phrases About #God

In the English language, there are tons of phrases that we use to express ourselves in different emotional moments. Some are good and some are bad/disrespectful to the God, our creator. Let’s break down a few!

First we have the one that says: If you want to hear God laugh, tell Him your plans. This phrase is awful because it discourages people from planning things and telling God about plans. It implies that God will deliberately make things no go according to plan because it amuses Him. The truth is, God wants us to talk to Him about the things that we want to do in life. That’s not a guarantee that it will happen that way but God loves us and He actually does want us to be happy. If you get into the habit of listening to Him then you’ll find that you will see the path to your accomplishments.

The next phrase is God Damn It. This one is used so much that it doesn’t hold much weight. Imagine if God really did Damn everything that this phrase was directed to! To damn something is to curse something and to say “God Damn It” is like requesting God to curse whatever is causing you frustration. It would be far better to not use this phrase at all.

We also have the phrase Oh My God, which actually isn’t bad at all. Because God has created everything, saying OMG is like declaring something extraordinary is happening. This can be something extraordinarily good or something extraordinarily bad. The best way to use this phrase would be in response to one of the natural wonders of the world. Also: it is also a way to claim God, which pleases Him as well.

Here is another one similar to the last one: Oh God. Again, this one isn’t that bad. It has many, many uses – from pleasant experiences to sexual experiences lol Oh Lord.

Do you have any more phrases about God that I should add to this list?
