Stress and Unity

Stress Management is important.

However I feel like that topic has been well exhausted. In my words, anyway.

So this may be my last post directed to stress relief. At least for a while. Unless some major breakthrough occurs.

Or, of course, if anyone reading wants to talk more about this with me specifically – Find me. Send me an email. Tell me about your specific challenge. I will always listen. I know what it is like to feel like no one will listen or care. I will listen. And I’m sorry to anyone who I have not been able to listen to. I don’t always reach out but if I am that important to you than please find me.

Whew.

So. Unity and stress management.

Many mistake Unity to be a force between people. That’s incorrect.

Unity not only refers to people.

Unity is any two forces coming together.

Here, since I’m talking about you (and me…but… You) the unity would refer to a person and a object/energy.

Now, let’s take it to an extreme and say that you are a drug user. A not a casual drug user, you’re the one with an addictive personality and you’ve decided to go and smoke meth.

So now you’ve unified not just with the physical drug but also with the world of dealers and scoring drugs.

This is a stressful activity to indulge in. You can get arrested if you happen to score from a undercover cop. Or you can score a bad batch of drugs and mess up your life unintentionally.

And then you can also have the stress of not being able to pay your bills because you spent all your cash on drugs.

And so on. You’ve unified, and become addicted to, the world of meth.

STRESS.FUL.

Now if you know me at all, you’ll know that I think drugs are okay in moderation. I don’t advertise it because I’m a role model. But I would be irresponsible If I didn’t stress the fact that, more than anything, balance should be the goal in life. Balance with everything, the bad habits too.

Lasting stress management is what we want. We want our stress relief to be so ingrained that it’s not special anymore. We don’t even want to think about it anymore. We want to take a stress-free life for granted.

But not tooooo far for granted because it’s still a blessing that should be appreciated as such.

Lasting stress relief is found in a balanced life.

Sure, some stress is healthy but we’re talking about the unhealthy kind.

Balance. Balance. Balance.

I don’t have anything else to say! I told you I was exhausted on this subject. Lol.

I guess the last thing I must mention is the responsibility of life. Something that’s hard to escape from or “balance” your way out of.

Here it is: always have something that you can turn to that makes you feel young again. That’ll make all the difference in the world. .โค๏ธ

3 Things About Me

While it may seem self-serving to do a “about me” post, I think that I’m important enough to share some of my core values with my dear readers.

After all, if we are to trust each other… Or, if you are to trust me to bring you accurate information… Then keeping it real about my personal views is non-negotiable.

I do want to say that I have deep love for Easy Light Sources readers and supporters. You guys keep me inspired and you’re Easy Light Sources for me, just as I provide Easy Light Sources for you!

It may seem like I’ll only talk about my good qualities but in the effort of being transparent, I’ll also provide the “down side”, if any, to the following 3 personality traits.

Okay, here we go!

NUMBER 1 –

This Star Believes That Anything is Possible!

Some ideas seem so far fetched that it’s easy to dismiss it as impossible.

I don’t really live in the realm of impossibility.

While I may not have the physical means to create whatever it is, I’ll go there with you.

Whatever topic you being to me, I’ll go there with you.

I enjoy talking about stuff and I learn some thing every time.

The downside to this is that I don’t always have the thought energy to do this.

When my son asks me a million “what if the grass was lava” questions, I don’t always have a creative answer for him.

But I will have a realistic answer. That’s just not always fun.

Either way, I guess what I’m trying to say is that yes, I do believe in magic.

NUMBER 2 –

Getting Enough Rest Is Top Priority

Yeah, sleep is an Easy Light Source. No doubt about it, no doubt at all.

But I’m talking about more than sleep, real quick.

And also, “enough rest” is different for everyone. And rest requirements mean different things at different times.

But whatever it is, getting enough of it is essential to being at peak life effectiveness.

Not only do you stay sharp, you also learn new things when you’re allowed time to really unwind.

If you do want to talk about sleep, it’s no secret that I do love sleeping.

Someone asked me what was my favorite thing to do and I answered “sleep”. Perhaps that’s an odd answer but I haven’t found a better way to relax.

Only through sleeping am I really able to rest completely.

Unless, of course, my dreams are particularly active.

Dreams though, they are also an interesting experience. I have big opinions on them which I purposely keep off of EasyLightSources.org.

But if you’re into it, dream interpretation of symbols can be pretty insightful.

The downside to needing so much rest is that I am at a disadvantage when I don’t get enough sleep.

Not sleeping enough pulls down my immune system into depths that are not cured by simply getting enough sleep.

When I sleep and take naps, I can come off as lazy – especially by those who don’t know who I am and what my purpose is.

And also, I can be a little cranky when I didn’t get enough rest.

But, I will say that sleep deprivation has a big and specific advantage for me. As long as it doesn’t go on for longer than…say.. 3 days.

NUMBER 3 –

I Struggle With Being A Leader

There is a big amount of confidence
That comes with leadership.

Something I’ve noticed is that a real leader leads no matter what. Intentionally or not.

It’s not always about telling people what to do.

For me, sometimes I’ve noticed that I can do something weird for a very specific reason…. But instead of it being a one-off situation, my behavior will be emulated for some odd reason.

That’s happened enough for me to check my own behavior more often. I won’t do certain things if I wouldn’t want someone to copy me.

All of this happened before I became a mom. But now that I have a son, I am more conscious of it than ever. It’s one thing for adults to copy me but when it comes to children, their consciousness is more impressionable and that carries a responsibility.

The downside obviously is that it’s annoying to do something and then have everyone else think that they can do it too.

Although, because of this, I should feel more confident stepping up when I need to. When a situation obviously needs someone to offer an example of guidance, if I should feel comfortable offering that guidance.

Maybe I will someday soon.

Thanks for reading, you guys!

This Bar Saves Lives

First things first.

No, this bar will not give you super powers of super healing abilities. In the heat of an emergency, ThisBar will remain a mere snack food.

On the bright side, having one of these during a snack emergency would be a pleasant experience.

The name of this food refers to the company’s goal of making a charitable donation per purchase.

I picked up both of these at my safe spot – 7-Eleven.

They both looked really good, honesty. Kinda healthy, kinda conscious of the world around us. And the flavors are my favorites – Blueberry/pistachio and cherry/dark chocolate.

The flavors did not disappoint me. Actually, it exceeded my expectations.

First, let’s go over the cherry and dark chocolate flavor.

It was yummy but sweeter than expected. Actually, I’d almost say it was too sweet for me.

I guess I expected the dark chocolate to give it some characteristic bitterness but it was none of that. It was like milk chocolate.

What you can’t see in the picture is that the bar has a coating of chocolate along the bottom of it. That’s good too!

It was pleasantly juicy too. There were real cherries in it and I liked it!

As good as it was, I think I prefer the Blueberry Pistachio flavor.

The whole thing tasted like it was sweetened with blueberry juice! I loved it so much.

When it comes down to it, I did like the Blueberry over the cherry.

The only complaint I have about the Blueberry bar is that it didn’t stay together that well. It was crunchy but still loosely textured.

Bottom line is that these bars are good and worth buying. Their save the world goal also adds to the appeal. Although, honestly, I’d still buy even if they were as selfish as every other company. Lol.

Moving Forward Gracefully

Okay I have a confession to make: lots of this article was written days ago. But it didn’t feel complete.

Maybe it wasnt complete until I had a personal story to share. An example of my own gracefulness.

And I do! This picture:

On this perfect day, I was hanging out, laying in the grass, and talking with 2 of the most amazing people that I know. What a privilege!

And then, it was time to go in. So I stand up and I’m like, “you guys, want to take a selfie?” I open the camera phone.

Neither of these special people want to take a selfie with me! Tf?

So here’s where I had some grace.

If I were insecure I think I’d say nevermind, close the phone, and feel slighted.

BUT. I had grace!

I said, okay I’ll take it by myself. A true self-ie.

I set the 3 second timer, dropped the phone into the grass, and took an amazing picture!

I still love both of those people but I’m actually really glad they didn’t want to take a pic with me because there is no way it would have been as amazing as my solo picture is ๐Ÿ™‚

Moving on –

A graceful presence is often felt before it is recognized. That’s because this positive energy is expressed in a variety of ways.

Treating yourself gracefully is an ultimate form of self-love, kindness, and care. Don’t underestimate the power of grace!

Often times, grace is related to religion. Thanks, in part, to the song Amazing Grace. That’s ironic as that particular song has first person lyrics that don’t resonate with self-respect.

The grace I’m referring to has nothing to do with religious vibrations. Nothing at all. If you’re holding on to that, let it go, ok?

If anything, I guess this is about grace as a behavior.

Grace presents itself in many different forms :

  • It’s a form of kindness
  • Grace is an action
  • Grace is understanding
  • Solid Grace can be extended to others.

In the face of unfortunate situations, Grace will allow you to:

  • Save face
  • Calm others
  • Rise into leadership (when applicable)

Handling Ourselves With Grace

The best way to treat ourselves is with TLC – Tender Loving Care.

Grace is a gift you give yourself when you love yourself.

Generating gracefully energy produces the gift of good energy that comes back to you.

Love is a guitar of energy in our lives. Along with kindness, joy, and laughter – grace is a string that can create a beautiful melody.

The difference with a love guitar is that a sour note can never be played – every combination is harmonious.

Primal Strips Vegan Jerky

So here we go. As a lifelong plant-based gal, I’ve never had meat jerky before. Nope. Not even a Slim Jim.

When I get the “I want something meaty” craving, I’ll probably eat something like a veggie burger straight with no bread or whatever. Vegan jerky definitely has its appeals.

I was at a vegan festival and received this vegan jerky as a free sample. At first the man behind the table was only going to give me one to try but when I told him I do reviews on my website, he loosened up and gave me both!

And I’m so glad he did. Because these 2 Primal Strips gave me 2 vastly different experiences.

One – the Hickory Smoked flavor- was made with soy protein as the number one ingredient.

The other flavor – Mesquite Lime – was made with vital wheat gluten as (in the form of seitan) as the main ingredient.

I have to say, soy is the best protein for this type of product.

The Hickory Smoked Primal Strip had a pleasantly chewy mouth feel. It was meaty and satisfying. The flavor, too, was really pleasant. It was sweet and smoky. I really enjoyed this.

The only thing that would prevent me from buying this one again would be the three different types of soy used to produce this.

Now moving onto the Mesquite Lime flavor, I have to say that I don’t really like it.

The flavor does have a slight tang. It could be okay.
But, it’s not the flavor that’s so unpleasant, it’s more the texture.

Actually, it’s all about the texture.

I don’t use the word “cardboard-y” very often but that’s the first that came to my mind when I attempted to chew this.

It’s fibrous and chewy. It’s like, the more you chew it, the more it stays the same. It does not disintegrate. It’s like Mesquite flavored gum almost!

In conclusion: soy jerky is good. Seitan jerky is not good.

Greatness is a Privilege

Of course we all have greatness inside of us.

We have moments that we feel like we’re winning.

Ever feel like you’re on top of the world? Standing on the globe as if everything heavy is beneath you – nothing but space and air on top of and around you.

Feel the lightness of space.

We stand, or sit, or lie, on top of the world every day of our lives.

How many don’t think about or realize it?

It’s a lot going on in life and sometimes there’s just no time to bask in, or even consider, how great you are.

Getting the opportunity to do what makes you feel great is truly an honor. I, personally, do appreciate it.

What is greatness, tho? It’s way more than confidence. Greatness is:

  • How much consistency and effort was put in and,
  • How your great contribution is received.

A lot of great people don’t know they’re great because they disregard their small victories.

Getting a child ready for school every morning is a super great action, especially when there’s more than one child and they have have to go to school 5 out of every 7 days.

There are millions of everyday examples that could be an Easy Light Source for anyone who needed it – if only you recognized what was going on.

When we stand on the Earth, our vantage points let us see around us.

Get lighter and you can go higher – and see more.

Look down & you’ll understand what life is about. And if you look up you can see places that many people don’t get to be.

If you want to get there, the answer is generating enough charge to propel yourself to where you’d like to be.

A personal note? I find that to be the ultimate hope for… Everything.
